Present Perfect Tense

The Present Perfect connects the past to the present. It describes actions that happened at an unspecified time or have results in the present. In Hindi, this is like "चुका हूं/चुकी हूं" or "किया है".

Structure

Positive: Subject + have/has + Past Participle (V3)

Negative: Subject + have/has + not + Past Participle

Question: Have/Has + Subject + Past Participle?

1. Life Experiences (unspecified time)

I have visited Paris. (मैं पेरिस जा चुका हूं।)
She has never eaten sushi. (उसने कभी सुशी नहीं खाई।)
Have you ever seen a tiger? (क्या तुमने कभी बाघ देखा है?)

2. Recent Actions with Present Results

I have lost my keys. (मैंने अपनी चाबियां खो दी हैं।) - I can't find them now
She has broken her leg. (उसने अपना पैर तोड़ लिया है।) - It's still broken

3. Actions That Just Happened

I have just finished my homework. (मैंने अभी-अभी होमवर्क पूरा किया है।)
The train has just left. (ट्रेन अभी-अभी गई है।)

4. Actions from Past to Present

I have lived here for 10 years. (मैं यहां 10 साल से रह रहा हूं।)
She has worked here since 2015. (वह 2015 से यहां काम कर रही है।)
